Bayern Munich denounces the signing of Mbappe to Real Madrid: “A nail in the football coffin”

The arrival of Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid, announced with great fanfare last Monday, continues to mark sports news and the football debate. The operation, valued at around 300 million euros including the transfer bonus and the salary that the Bondy striker will receive in the five years that he has signed, has also aroused certain criticism. Madrid, yes, has avoided paying anything to PSG.

One of the most belligerent has been Max Eberl, sporting director of Bayern Munich. The leader has participated in a talk organized by the German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung in which he has been pleased and in which he has warned of the dangers of greedy people in the world of football.

“If all the money is spent at some point, then we will have nothing left to survive on,” Eberl warned. “You can be increasingly greedy, but everyone who is greedy will slowly become a nail in the coffin of football,” he said at an event called ‘The Future of Football’.

Eberl spoke of “tens of hundreds of millions” and referred to the world football bubble. “It’s too big and you have the feeling that it will explode at some point. It’s going to become oversaturated and then Saudi Arabia will appear. I have the feeling that it’s not the right thing to do, but that’s the market now,” added Bayern’s sporting director.

“Money is leaving the market. No club benefits from this. The players, the families, the advisors, everyone benefits, but not the clubs,” he warned. “Before, it was always the case that the clubs had benefits but it will be less and less like that,” Eberl pointed out.

“Of course I want to be successful, I won’t celebrate finishing fifth. But expenses have increased again and both things have to be reconciled and Bayern have achieved that time and again,” declared Max Eberl.
