Lunin reveals a huge surprise regarding Bernardo Silva’s strange penalty

Ukrainian Andriy Lunin, the hero of Real Madrid’s victory over Manchester City, spoke about the penalty kicks in which he excelled and saved two kicks from Bernardo Silva and Kovacic.

Real Madrid achieved a 4-3 victory on penalties over Manchester City after regular time ended in a 1-1 draw, and qualified for the semi-finals of the Champions League to face Bayern Munich, who succeeded in eliminating Arsenal.

The penalty shootout witnessed a strange execution by Portuguese Bernardo Silva, whose kick was easily blocked by Lunin as it was weak in the middle of the goal.

Lunin spoke after the match and began by thanking his teammates, saying: “I must say thank you to my team-mates for how hard they worked in front of me”.

Regarding Bernardo Silva’s penalty kick, Lunin revealed a surprise, saying: “Before the shoot-out, we prepared what we believed City’s players would do and we knew that there would be one who’d try to go straight and over me. We decided to take a risk and, luckily, I chose the right guy [Silva] to take that risk and stand up.”
