Zidane’s first signing with Bayern Munich will be from Real Madrid
The Spanish newspaper Marca confirmed that German club Bayern Munich is negotiating with French coach Zinedine Zidane to coach the Bavarian team next season, after they announced their separation from Thomas Tuchel at the end of the season.
Bayern Munich had sought the opinion of Xabi Alonso to coach the team, but he closed the door, at least for another season, after he announced that he would continue with Bayer Leverkusen until June 2025, so the German team turned its attention to Zidane, who had not coached a team since his departure from Real Madrid.
According to the same Spanish newspaper, Zidane’s first deal with Bayern Munich may be from Real Madrid, as the Bavarian club decided to sign Miguel Gutierrez, Girona’s left-back, who will return to Real Madrid at the end of the current season.
After Alphonso Davies’ future became closer to Real Madrid, as the Canadian full-back did not agree to extend his contract with Bayern Munich and is said to have an agreement with Florentino Perez, the German club turned its attention to Miguel Gutierrez to replace him.
With Zidane potentially arriving at the Allianz Arena, things will be a perfect fit as the French coach was the first to discover Miguel Gutierrez when he was a player in the academy. But he did not enjoy continuity with Ancelotti, and the Italian gave him the freedom to leave, unlike Zidane, who has great respect for him, and they may meet next season in the German League.
It is worth noting that Real Madrid has decided to activate a clause in Gutierrez’s contract that allows them to bring him back at the end of the current season for only 8 million euros, which is a small number compared to his market value after his great performance with Girona this season.
