Suarez congratulates Real Madrid on its first signing for 2024: “What he did is incredible and I was hoping he would join Barcelona”

Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez, the former FC Barcelona striker, congratulated Real Madrid on his new deal, which is scheduled to join the Santiago Bernabeu in June 2024.

Luis Suarez won the Brazilian League’s Best Player award after scoring 17 goals and 11 assists for Gremio, which finished second behind champions Palmeiras.

Suarez confirmed his happiness with this award, saying: “I am happy to win this prestigious award in Brazilian football. I thank my colleagues in Gremio, my wife and my children.”

During the ceremony in which Luis Suarez received the award for the best player in the Brazilian League, the Uruguayan striker met Andric (17 years old), the Palmeiras striker who had just won the local title and who is preparing to join Real Madrid in the summer of 2024.

“He is a star, he is still very young, he is taking his first steps,” Suarez said. I think what he achieved this year is incredible. “Brazil, Real Madrid and football have a new star for many more years.”

But the controversy came when he was asked if Indrik should sign for Barcelona:  “Obviously, but he has to decide and enjoy football, and football will enjoy him ,” words that sparked laughter from the young Brazilian.
