The newspaper said that Marco Asensio is living his last days as a Real Madrid player. Next Sunday’s match against Athletic Bilbao will bring an end to his nine seasons as a Real Madrid player.

Barring a last-minute turn in the negotiations, in the coming days he will be a new player at Paris Saint-Germain. Asensio is close to signing a four- or five-year contract with the French champions, as AS newspaper has been able to confirm.

Asensio has many excellent offers from England, but the offer from Paris Saint-Germain is the most attractive for him.

Chelsea, Liverpool and Aston Villa are the clubs most in pursuit of his services, although the Paris Saint-Germain project and the interest shown by the Parisian club in it seem to have tipped the balance in favor of the Ligue 1 champions.

Real Madrid, in the form of sporting director Jose Angel Sanchez, tried until the last minute and in various conversations to persuade Asensio to renew, but the player’s position was steadfast.

He does not feel comfortable with the secondary role he plays in Ancelotti’s plans and that is why he rejected the renewal offer that has been on the table for months.

Asensio signed for Real Madrid in 2014. Since then, he has made 285 appearances for the white club, scoring 61 goals and providing 32 assists.
