Marca reveals Camavinga injury update and his chances in playing against Man City
Eduardo Camavinga sounded the alarm at the Bernabéu when he had to leave the field at the end of the Getafe match due to a left knee injury. A kick from below, to the right ankle, delivered by Juan Iglesias, caused a sprained knee.
According to the club’s white statement, the French midfielder suffers from a slight sprain in his left knee. More tests will be carried out tomorrow, but he is expected to arrive on Wednesday for the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Manchester City.
Annoyed by the grimace of the Frenchman, Ancelotti changed the decision to change. The player who was going to leave the field was Marco Asensio, but Camavinga’s injury made him change his mind.
Ancelotti said after the match: “Camavinga has a little knee sprain, but it is stable. Now it hurts him a bit, but the most important thing is that he moves normally. The inner part of the knee bothers him… but it’s nothing serious.”
The alarm was raised when Camavinga was seen with an ice pack on the injured area after arriving on the bench, visibly limping. Now, the Frenchman will be waiting to see the progression of this knee problem as he clearly plays a vital role in the Al-Ittihad match.
Ancelotti added: “It’s just a kick that bothers him a bit. He is 20 years old and will recover soon. Tomorrow he rests on everything he played and on Monday he will be with the rest of the team.
