Vinícius Makes an Urgent Request to His Agent After El Clásico Fallout

The relationship between Xabi Alonso and Vinícius Júnior is far from ideal. Although the tension isn’t entirely new, it reportedly began during the Club World Cup, when the Brazilian realized that his status as an undisputed starter under Carlo Ancelotti no longer applied under Alonso.

Xabi Alonso had initially planned to leave the Brazilian on the bench against Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup, but Trent’s injury forced him to change his approach — something Vinícius was fully aware of.

In fact, according to Cadena SER, late in the summer transfer window, the player told his agent that he wanted to leave Real Madrid if Alonso did not consider him a regular starter.

Ultimately, Vinícius stayed, but he has since realized that he is not an automatic first-choice player under Alonso — unlike Mbappé — a situation the Brazilian struggles to understand, as he believes he fulfills the coach’s defensive requirements.

Ironically, it was precisely his lack of defensive contribution in the second half of El Clásico that led Alonso to substitute him — a decision that Vinícius reportedly did not take well.

According to Cadena SER, the player remains firm in his stance: he is considering leaving Real Madrid or, more accurately, refusing to renew his contract (which runs until 2027) if Xabi Alonso continues to overlook him as a key starter.
