The Georgia national team achieved a historic 2-0 victory over Portugal in the third round match of the Euro 2024 group stage and qualified for the round of 16 for the first time in its history.

The match witnessed the participation of Cristiano Ronaldo from the first minute, but he was unable to change the result and entered into many clashes with the referee, one of which resulted in him receiving a yellow card.

In the 16th minute, there was a direct free kick for Portugal from 31 yards away. Ronaldo entered to take it, but he quarreled with the referee because of the distance of the human wall of the Georgian players. It seems that the referee said words to him that angered him, so he entered to take the kick, looking angry, and he shot it so powerful that the goalkeeper was able to push it away with difficulty.

According to match statistics, Ronaldo’s shot reached a speed of 130 km/h from a distance of 31 metres.
