Violent brawl between Rudiger and his teammate in Germany national team days before Euro 2024
Maximum tension in the last training session this Monday of the German team. Antonio Rüdiger , Real Madrid centre-back , and Niclas Füllkrug , Borussia Dortmund striker , were involved in a heated altercation in which they were on the verge of coming to blows, after being ‘hunted’ by the cameras of the newspaper ‘Bild’.
The incident between the two, witnessed by just over 4,000 fans present at an open-door preparatory session, originated with a fight between both players. Rüdiger did not stop holding on to Füllkrug, forcefully pulling him down, causing the Dortmund striker to fall to the ground. The striker stood up to shout at the Madrid player for his excessive harshness and both began to push each other, having to be separated by the assistant coach, Sandro Wagner , so that the argument did not escalate.
The tempers, far from calming down, continued with one and the other player giving each other ‘combs’ with angry gestures, practically until the work session ended. Rüdiger, who defines himself as the ‘crazy’ one, and Füllkrug seemed to have some pending account of their recent confrontation in the Champions League final on June 1 in London , where Real Madrid won the title after beating 2-0 against Dortmund.
Shortly after Monday’s incident, Rüdiger tried to downplay the incident by reposting a post shared by Füllkrug on his social media on Instagram.
The Dortmund forward uploaded a photo of the session in which he appeared next to the Real Madrid defender and the latter spread it through his stories with some smiling face emoticons, implying that his anger was already over. forgotten ‘Bild’ also recalled that the two have an excellent relationship, as they have met in all the lower categories of the ‘Mannschaft’.
