Mijatovic criticizes the Real Madrid player: “What he did against Leipzig surprised all of humanity”

Real Madrid legend, Pedrag Mijatovic, harshly criticized one of the white team’s players after the Leipzig match in the Champions League.

Real Madrid succeeded in qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Champions League after a 1-1 draw with German club Leipzig yesterday, Wednesday, at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, benefiting from its 1-0 victory in the first leg.

Real Madrid appeared in a disturbing manner in the match, as its players gave a lackluster performance that amounted to receiving boos from the fans present at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The match witnessed another incident, which was the incident in which Vinicius Junior escaped expulsion after he pushed a Leipzig defender by the neck after obstructing him forcefully. The referee was merciful to the Brazilian winger and gave him only a yellow card. Shortly after, he scored the lead goal.

For his part, Mijatovic attacked Vinicius, saying: “There is no explanation for what he did. How at this stage of the competition, when he is defending this shirt, he does this kind of behaviour, I don’t understand. “We are starting to think that this boy has already calmed down and then he does something like this! This is what surprises me and all of humanity.”

He added: “And then, I have to say something else: Imagine that in the first leg, the goal that was disallowed for Leipzig was disallowed for Real Madrid… We will all say that if UEFA, I don’t know what… and if they don’t send off a player like… Vinicius (being from the opposing team), we would say: “Well, they are all anti-Madridistas.”

He concluded: “You have to be really objective, and this play from Vinicius happens because he feels really helpless in the first half without doing anything. It is frustration and he must control it because he could leave the team with ten players and lose qualification.”
