Real Madrid’s first official step after La Liga announced Bellingham’s sanction

In the minutes of the Mestalla match , Gil Manzano reflected Bellingham’s expulsion in this way: “After the end of the match and still on the field of play, he ran towards me in an aggressive attitude and shouted, repeating on several occasions ‘its a fucking goal'”.

In its resolution , Competition points out that “The repeated viewing of the images has not allowed this Committee to conclude, beyond all doubt, that the action that led to the expulsion did not occur as described by the referee and, ultimately, prove the material error manifest in the referee’s report.

The tone and attitude of the player and the number of times the phrase is repeated is decisive in contextualizing the action and the effect of the specific words spoken by the player, beyond their translation literal”.

The red card that Bellingham saw at Mestalla costs the Englishman a two-match suspension, as resolved by the Competition Committee for attitudes of contempt or inconsideration towards the match referee, Gil Manzano.

Real Madrid plans to resort to Appeal to try to reduce the Englishman’s sanction, who right now would miss the games against Celta on Sunday at the Bernabéu and on Saturday, March 16 in Pamplona against Osasuna.
