Not Mbappe.. Guardiola loudly protests the upcoming Real Madrid deal: “This cannot be.. they take the best.”
Manchester City, led by Pep Guardiola, already knows what awaits him if Real Madrid completes the signing of the strong deal that is very close to the doors of the Santiago Bernabéu.
The current European champions have been one of Real Madrid’s biggest rivals in recent times but not just on the pitch.
The same thing happened when looking at the transfer market where Guardiola competed with Florentino Pérez when it came to looking for specific names that in the vast majority of cases ended up coming to Real Madrid.
Aside from knowing what is happening in his future and his contract with Manchester City, which expires sooner rather than later, Guardiola admitted to English club officials that he is concerned about what is being cooked in the Spanish capital without the need for money from the Middle East or oil money.
Florentino wins again
“This cannot be, they take the best…”, mused Guardiola, who is very angry about Real Madrid’s approach to signing Alphonso Davies. We are talking about a player that the Catalan coach asked to sign on several occasions, but City was unable to do so.
Now that he is one step away from Real Madrid, the Catalan is bursting at the seams and seeing all sorts of similarities to Bellingham’s case. They fear at the Etihad Stadium when they see how Florentino has once again overtaken them in the race for other big signings this season. If we add Mbappe’s name to this, the fear in the entire Premier League becomes more understandable.
