Bono reveals the only reason why he did not join Real Madrid after Courtois injury

From the concentration of the Moroccan National Team and after playing his first three official matches with Al-Hilal , with three wins and two clean sheets, Yassine Bono , former Sevilla goalkeeper , went through the microphones of the program El Pelotazo , from Canal Sur Radio , to analyze how his departure from the Nervionense team came about and the different options he handled during the summer, including the possibility of signing for Real Madrid.

Bono assures that he was “the first option” of Carlo Ancelotti ‘s team after Courtois ‘s serious knee injury , something that MARCA reported, but that his possible participation in the African Cup ruled him out.

“That’s what I understand. Later, the board of directors analyzed the situation, saw that I could go to the African Cup and miss a lot of games in an important month for Real Madrid and it couldn’t. In addition, they had other options that could drive at the transfer level that suited them better”, he revealed.

“The African Cup has greatly influenced this market, both for me and for Youssef (En-Nesyri),” insisted Bono , who is convinced that the month that the tournament lasts, from mid-January to mid-February , has hurt them when it comes to finding a destination in European clubs by coinciding with a few weeks of many league games and cup tournaments, and being close to the start of the knockout rounds of continental tournaments.
