Mario Cortegana: “Real Madrid signed the new Beckham”
Real Madrid, led by Florentino Pérez, continues to build a competitive and complete squad to face this new 23/24 season with all kinds of guarantees. In this way, they can provide Carlo Ancelotti with a series of players, including several ‘world tops’ in his position.
Within this squad, there is a player who has been signed this summer who is reminiscent of one who was there several years ago in many ways: David Beckham. Beckham’s arrival at Real Madrid was a spectacular signing for Real Madrid at all levels and now, we could be in a similar case before.
The new Beckham
Jude Bellingham has signed for Real Madrid this summer. The English player has arrived from Germany eager to do things well and succeed at Real Madrid.
Mario Cortegana, Marca journalist, told ‘The Athletic’ that the player is totally integrated with the group and that he is a very polite and respectful player with the club and with his teammates.
His ‘English gestures’, and that respect for the club and teammates in a newcomer is something that within Real Madrid they have hardly seen since David was at the Bernabéu.
Now with Belligham it is being seen again. Cortegana gives some examples of what we have. “Joselu scores a goal and goes over to congratulate him, Kroos takes a kick and goes to help him get up and every day, after training, a mass bath, he spends five or ten minutes signing autographs and taking photos.” Something that, as we said, reminds many of the gestures of the great David Beckham, now owner of Inter Miami.
