Mbappe announces his divorce from PSG in a shocking statement
One day after what was published by the French newspaper L’Equipe that Mbappe does not intend to renew his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, the player broke his silence, through an official statement he issued through Agence France-Presse, in which he confirmed that he had not discussed at any time the renewal of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
In addition, he confirmed that he had informed the club since July 15, 2022 that he would not renew his contract beyond 2024. The statements come in response to information published by L’Equipe newspaper on Monday that turned the French capital upside down.
Kylian Mbappe began his statement: “I never spoke about renewing the contract with Paris Saint-Germain.” The France international then dropped the bombshell that the Ligue 1 champions’ captains had known for nearly a year about his decision not to continue from 2024.
And he concluded: “The club’s management was informed, a year ago, on July 15, 2022, of my decision not to renew, and the sole purpose of the letter is to confirm what was said verbally previously.”
