Toni Kroos slip of the tongue confirms the departure of his Real Madrid teammate
The German midfielder, Toni Kroos, unintentionally revealed that one of Real Madrid’s prominent players would soon leave the team at the end of the current season.
Real Madrid is working to resolve the files of players whose contracts will expire at the end of the current season. Karim Benzema, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos have already agreed to extend their contracts for another year, Spanish newspaper Marca reports.
However, the positions of three other players, Nacho, Ceballos and Asensio, who have yet to reach an agreement with Real Madrid about their future, have not yet been decided, although the news indicates that the Spanish winger is about to leave in particular.
The Spanish newspaper AS said at the beginning of the week that negotiations to renew the contract between Asensio’s agents and Real Madrid had failed and that the separation of the two parties would be announced after the end of the season, which is the expiration date of his contract.
Although Asensio’s departure has not been officially announced, Toni Kroos’ recent statements confirm the fact that the Spanish winger’s career ended in Madrid.
Toni Kroos told the German website Real Total: “The future of Nacho, Asensio and Ceballos? It’s hard to say. We don’t talk about that much. But since yesterday I have the feeling that with Marco it might not work (the renewal). As for Nacho and Danny, I have no idea. I have a feeling, but I don’t have an idea.
