Real Madrid offered contract renewal on Ceballos and Asensio: “One of them agreed and the other refused”
Real Madrid focus on the second leg of the semi-final against Manchester City. Players, coaching staff and management, but this does not prevent them from working on the solution of open files.
Football does not stop, and the past few weeks have confirmed the continuity of Kroos and Modric, as well as discussing the file of Marco Asensio and Dani Ceballos.
Real Madrid’s philosophy regarding the seven renewals of players whose contracts will expire has always been the same: “In the end, whoever we want will be renewed.” Everything indicates that the final score will be five to two in favor of the renewals, pending Nacho’s final decision.
In parallel, the leaders of Real Madrid did not stop working on signing Jude Bellingham, as they reached a preliminary agreement with the English player, who has been enjoying priority for months as the most important deal for the next season.
Fran Garcia signed his return in January, becoming the first reinforcement, so that the Borussia Dortmund player will be the second reinforcement once the German side wrap up their season.
Marco Asensio turned the situation around. First with the fans, those who loudly asked for his renewal, and then with the captains, who knew how to appreciate the striker’s contribution and the performance he gives every time he steps onto the pitch.
The Real Madrid administration made a second offer for the striker, in a sign of the club’s desire to continue relying on Asensio. The white team’s third top scorer in La Liga welcomed the move. The player was contacted by various teams, the most recent of which was Aston Villa, as announced by Marca newspaper, but his priority was always to stay in Madrid.
Asensio feels valued and the club does not want to lose a player who guarantees quality goals and minutes. For his part, Ancelotti has always chosen the continuity of the attacker, but the negotiations have always been between the club and the player exclusively, without the intervention of the Italian coach. The leaders are also optimistic about signing a new contract.
Asensio is looking and wants more minutes, but he knows he has the trust of the club and the coach, which are key factors. In January, Florentino Pérez himself told him there would be no problem with his continuity, which is very close to being a reality.
It’s not the same with Dani Ceballos. The club sent him its first renewal offer in three weeks, which did not convince the player or his agents. They expected more. In fact, the player listened to the offer of Real Betis and has an important offer from Italy (a very attractive tax system), with Atletico Madrid waiting for what might happen.
At the moment, the continuation of Ceballos looks more than complicated. He was the last player to be offered a renewal and the response we got makes us believe that his future will not go through the Bernabéu. In any case, contacts are still open, but not only with Real Madrid.
